Here are some sites I discovered this week while surfing around…

I discovered a UK website from The Book Chook that I’d never heard of before. It’s called CBeebies. One thing I noticed while looking at the read aloud stories is that the language may need to be explained first to a child in the states. For example, it reads, “Once upon a jump…” instead of “Once upon a time…”.
While we’re on the subject of The Book Chook, check out her article about helping kids to link reading and writing. Oh, and this one too–playing around with words to increase literacy.
