Saturday’s Savorings: Letting Loose

By thisreadingmama 2 Comments

So, hubby’s been gone all week…and to be honest, we’ve actually been okay.  As much as I’ve missed him, I’ve been doing more than surviving.  And I’ll tell you my secret: letting loose.  Now, I don’t mean all rules out the window; but I really felt the Lord nudging me to let loose of my Type A tendencies and just enjoy my kiddos this week…not something that comes very naturally to me.

Here are some of the fun things I’ll savor from letting loose:

Eating on the deck

Pool fun-now this is the blog “friendly” picture; but let me just tell you-a slide was added to the mix and bathing suits were traded in for birthday suits.  Oh my, I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in some time!

Dominoes, dominoes, and

MORE dominoes–this boy turned into quite the domino building machine this week…

as well as GeoTrax, Build-a-Road (no picture),

marble runs (he cut holes out of cereal boxes and taped magnets on the back),

and Hexbugs (accompanied by, you guessed it, dominoes).

Our house looked like a war zone at one point.  I did demand a clean up that particular evening!

Oh, and a little bit of schoolwork was squeezed into the mix! 🙂

Sometimes when its just the kids and I, with no daddy, no appointments, no playdates, I feel more able to let them have that freedom… and for me to enjoy it! I have been enjoying your blog!

Thanks, Annette. And being solo has it’s advantages…like I can be as selfish with my time as I want to be when the kiddos are in bed. Hehe.
