Picture Word Wall Search

By thisreadingmama Leave a Comment

Here’s an activity that we just started doing with our Picture Word Wall and I believe it’s helping NJoy’s letter sounds stick.  Yay!  Plus, it’s fun and interactive and…he really likes it.  It greatly helps that I grant him permission to play with a yard stick…usually a no-no.  That in itself makes this activity exciting. 🙂

We go on a letter sound search!  My first clue is something like, “Find the letter that says /t/ /t/ /t/.”  If he has trouble with this clue, I say something like, “Find the letter that makes the first sound in “/t/, /t/, turtle.”

If you’d like to view the letter of the week posts or download the pictures I’ve hand-drawn thus far, you can visit here.

Thank you for joining This Reading Mama on a literacy journey!
