Today, I’m sharing an emergent reader called Dressed for Snow (see the updated download link at the end of this post). I have two different versions of it. The first version you can just print out and use. Here are a couple of sample pages from it:
The second version is a blank version that has vocabulary cards and blank pages in the book that could easily be used as a literacy center or with your child at home to practice some writing and drawing. Further instructions on how to do this are included in the download. Here are a couple of sample pages:
Update: You can find this emergent reader (PLUS another one) and more activities to accompany it my Winter Pre-K/K Pack!

These are wonderful. I love the idea of the blank book and the vocabulary cards! I’m just learning to create printables too. I was using an old version of microsoft office. Then my husband got tired of his laptop and passed it on to me (he’s a tech guy so it wasn’t even old, you just know how those techies are!) In the new version, I can save publisher files as pdf which makes them more useable for my purposes! Yeah!!! I have a lot to learn. I see many sleepless nights…
It’s so nice that your husband is a tech guy. Mine is to a certain degree, but he works at a computer most of his day and doesn’t really want to be on the computer trying to solve all my questions when he gets home (he does any way some nights because he’s so gracious). I have a lot of learning to do! Can’t wait to see some of your printables. Yes, sleepless nights…I guess that’s what I’ll do when the baby comes and still has her days and nights mixed up…hehe.
