Today, I’m sharing my FREE January Writing Prompts. Included on the download (at the end of post) are 8 writing prompts related to winter/snow. Young writers (K-2nd grade) choose a prompt, write, then color in that portion of the picture.
Please note that these writing prompts are only suggestions. If your child would like to write using a variation of the prompt, please give him the freedom to do so. Just last month, my 2nd grader took one of the prompts and turned it into a Christmas poem all on his own. There is complete freedom with these prompts. They are used most effectively as a springboard.
