Check out these fun and simple DIY Sight Word Mosaics! They’re a great way to make learning visual and are perfect for kiddos who love art or love to color!

How can simple scribbles help a child to read? DIY Sight Word Mosaics, of course! 🙂
DIY Sight Word Mosaics
All you need for this simple activity is a black marker, crayons, a few sight words, and a willing kiddo!
To create these beautiful mosaics, simply take your black marker and “scribble” on the page, being sure you’ve provided spaces big enough to write and color in. {See my scribbles below.}

Next, write sight words in the spaces and a color key at the bottom. {See the image below.} To make it even less prep, let your child choose the colors for each word. If you want to use phonics words, go right ahead. This activity is totally adaptable!

Next, hand some crayons and the scribble sight word page to the willing child and let them use the color key to color in the sight words in the mosaic.

When they’re finished coloring, you have a beautiful DIY sight word mosaic!

Got older kiddos? Let them create it for their younger siblings. Got artsy kids? Let them create their own mosaics! The adaptations are endless.
Enjoy!

I am working on some CVC stuff and would to love to use something like this with it. Would it be okay if I used it?
Sure, Cassie. Can’t wait to see it! Email me when it’s finished! 🙂
