The 100th day of school may be nearing for you and your students. How exciting! I always love to make a big “to-do” about the 100th day. It’s nice to take a break from the ordinary and do something different. And today, No Doubt Learning and I are co-hosting a Celebrate the 100th Day of School blog hop to help you do just that. Be sure to hop over to her post today (100 Fun Ways to Integrate Reading into Your Homeschool). I am sharing 10 Read Alouds for the 100th Day of School that will help you celebrate for sure! Chicka, Chicka 123 is a delightful little rhyming book about numbers 1-100. As everyone counts around the tree, the extra little zero wonders if there will be a place for him. If you kids like Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom, they will like this book just as well!
Pair I’ll Teach My Dog 100 Words up with asking kids to explore 100 words that they know! If you teach in the classroom, start a list on chart paper, allowing kids to write words they know during down times of the school day. Can they reach 100? If you teach at home, start a list before the 100th day of school and add to it at any time. Can your child reach 100 by the 100th day of school?
If you make a 100th day snack or ask your kids to collect 100 of something, 100 Hungry Ants is a great hands-on book for teaching beginning division!
Break out the Cheerios and The Cheerios Counting Book. Count by 2’s, by 5’s, or by 10’s. We have this book and my kids (ages 22 months to 8 years) like it any time of the year.

The wolf wants nothing more than some yummy chicken stew. So he goes about sharing with the chicken (in the 100’s) to butter her up. Will his plan work or will it backfire on him? You must read The Wolf’s Chicken Stew to find out!
One Watermelon Seed is the perfect pair when planting a garden at home or outside your classroom. Counting by 10’s to 100 is reinforced as the characters plant the seeds then reap their bountiful harvest!
Forget 100 days of school. Try 100 Days of Cool instead! This class learns from day 1 that math is cool and that math is everywhere.
Want to challenge your child who already knows how to count by 1’s to 100? From One to One Hundred would be the book. The numbers are hidden in the pictures in ways that you wouldn’t expect all the way to 100.
