Maybe it’s the beautiful color collage of fall leaves visible everywhere you look. Maybe it’s the smell of pumpkin spice. But there’s just something about fall that screams, “Craft time!” Every year, we make place mats from the leaves in our yard. But this year, I wanted to do something else. So we made natural fall leaf collages!

First, we collected leaves from our yard. {Okay, if truth be told, I collected most of the leaves, as the day I had planned to do this craft, it was rainy and dreary outside…not at all like our typical fall days.}
Once the leaves dried, I cut off all the stems. My kids {ages 3-8} used scissors and cut apart the leaves into little pieces. MBug especially liked this part as she usually does this with paper all.over.my.floor.
Each child selected a leaf template {download HERE or click on the image above} and “painted” glue on the inside.
The sticky template was placed in a cardboard box top {to contain the mess} and the cut up leaves were sprinkled on top. The excess leaves were shaken off and the natural fall leaf collage was finished!
