Long o (CVCe) Bible Reader: Phonics by the Book
The lesson comes with a 5-day outline. Feel free to pick and choose the activities you’d like to use with your child. Please do not feel obligated to do every single one. We certainly don’t every time. The activities work well together, but are just as effective in teaching your child if done separately.
Some of the activities included in the pack:
The God of Hope Reader (focused on the o_e pattern) and the story of Gideon: nine pages long. The first page lists the all the o_e words included in the reader.
Activities to Reinforce the o_e Pattern:
Long o Word Family Sort
Spin a Pattern
Little Words-making little words from the word THRONES
Activities to Reinforce Sight Words at a 1st Grade Level, such as
I Spy Sight Words
And Activities that Review BOTH Sight Words & Phonics, such as
There are also Bible verse and writing activities that correspond and support the theme that we usually do not do each week, but are included just in case you’d like to use them. 🙂
