My almost Kindergartner has been playing a little bit with numbers with these 1-10 number sorting cards. I love how many different ways numbers are presented and the practice she’s getting with number sense.
Note: I’ve had so many requests for number cards for 11-20 that I’ve made them, too!

1-10 Number Sorting Cards
These simple number sorting cards are a great way to help learners see different ways that numbers can be represented.
For each number, I’ve included the number, the number represented as a ten frame, fingers counting the numbers, snap cubes, the number word, and tally marks.
These are just a few ways to represent numbers, but I felt these were the best ones to use with my 5 year old for now. Pick and choose from these which ones you think are most appropriate for your learner(s).
You can sort them on a pocket chart or table top,
but you can also play a memory match game with them. You can just match two of a kind cards. You can also make it extra tricky by asking learners to match 3-4 of the same kind of card in the game.
Another fun idea is to play a “Which Ones Don’t Belong?” kind of game. Place the number card out and ask learners to find the card/cards that don’t belong. In the above example, the stack of four cubes and the number word six don’t belong.
Because these are open-ended cards, I would encourage you to let your learner help you think of different ways to play with the number cards. This is especially important for reluctant learners!

when clicking on teal download button… you download only 11-20. it’s not for the download of 1-10 which the article is for. Do you by any chance have it go to the 1-10 download somewhere else?
Thank you so much for sharing!!
