Fire up your printer to print these fun, free, and cute ABC’s of Summer journal pages.
A couple of weeks ago, I posted my Top 10 Ways to Keep Kids Reading and Writing this summer for the Kid Blogger Network School’s Out Series.
In it, I mentioned encouraging kids to keep a summer journal to record their memories and adventures. Well, that idea metamorphized into something bigger…plus, I found some really cute summer ABC clip art that I just had to use.

My ABC’s of Summer {Printable Journal}
I’m calling it My ABC’s of Summer. It’s a FREE printable summer journal!
This idea is similar to the My ABC’s of Thanksgiving I created back in November {also a FREE download}. I had such a great response in November, I thought it would be fun to apply it to summer writing.
The idea is that learners use the ABC pages to write down summer adventures that correspond with each letter of the alphabet.
For example: Aa is for aquarium or w is for water park. The same activity has been adapted for both preschoolers {space to draw} and primary-age kids {space to draw and write}.
Variation: If you’re a classroom teacher, divide up the letters at the beginning of next school year among the students in your classroom. Each learner can write for their letter and share with the class {a fun way to get to know each other}. Compile it as a classroom book and display for kids to read and re-read. You can skip the harder letters, like q or x, or you can do those together as a class with a little creativity. Some learners may even be able to write about more than one letter.
Enjoy teaching!

Hmmm…it works just fine for me. Do you have the latest update for Adobe? That can make a difference.

Becky, this is the second year my kiddos have done this. It’s wonderful. I will be including it in a post Monday. Thank you for your resources.
