Pumpkin Learning Pack for Pre-K/K
I’m excited to share my Pumpkin Pre-K/K Pack with you today! It’s fresh off the press and I just printed off a few of the activities to do with my preschoolers this coming week.
In the pack, you’ll find an emergent reader and other pumpkin activities that work on rhyming, syllables, rote counting, adding, fine motor skills and MORE!
The activities are very similar in nature to the hands-on activities you’ll find in Reading the Alphabet, a free 31-week curriculum for emergent readers. You can also find all my seasonal Pre-K/K Packs HERE. They’re all FREE! 🙂
I’ve added a new component to the set that I’m excited to do with my preschoolers. It was requested by my 5 year old after we used pointers with recent writing lesson with my oldest son. It’s the Pumpkin Pointer page {see picture above}. Cut out any of the pictures and place on a popsicle stick to serve as a pointer when reading the emergent reader.
Pumpkin Read Alouds to Accompany this Pack
- Apples and Pumpkins by Anne Rockwell
- It’s Pumpkin Time! by Zoe Hall
- Pumpkin Circle by George Levenson
- Too Many Pumpkins by Linda White
- Pumpkin Pumpkin by Jeanne Titherington
- Seed, Sprout, Pumpkin Pie by Jill Esbaum {I LOVE this National Geographic Kids series!}

I too am getting the same warning. My antivirus ware doesn’t like it. Just fyi. I’d love to have the pack, though, and are so thankful for all you do. I especially like how you “teach” us through your aritcles as well. As a former teacher, it feels like mini-workshops without having to leave my home 🙂

Love this, thank you! We actually visited the pumpkin patch today with our homeschooling group! I’d add another book (brand new to our library) to your list. It’s “The Pumpkin Book” by Gail Gibbons. The illustrations are great and it covers the entire life-cycle of the pumpkin in a way even my 5 year old followed. We read it last night in prep for our field trip today, and he remembered every detail. 🙂 Your lesson will go perfectly with this unit we’re doing. http://www.amazon.com/The-Pumpkin-Book-Gail-Gibbons/dp/0823416364/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412302131&sr=8-1&keywords=The+pumpkin+book

Yes, we have it at home. It is a great resource (as Gail Gibbons’ books always are). It’s a little over the head of my Pre-K/K kids, so that’s why I didn’t include it. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thank you so very much. These packs are both wonderful and just what we need for our learning stations during guided reading and guided math times. Happy Fall!

The Preschool Printable Page link takes me to a St. Jude’s page. I am hoping to be able to download what you have, they look so great!

Marion, you might want to try again. Something goes wonky every once in a while and links go to ads. Not sure why this happens. I’m sorry!
