Welcome to my Frequently Asked Questions page!
Please note: There’s just one of me and my family comes before my business. I receive so many emails a day and wish I could duplicate myself to answer them all.
I’ve developed this F.A.Q. page to answer the email questions I get as best I can. If I email you back with this link, it means the answer is below.
Blog or Teaching-Related Questions
1. My child/student is struggling with ______. Can you help?
These are the emails that tug at my heartstrings. I wish I could answer each and every one, but I can’t. There’s only so much of me. Your best course of action is to search my blog via the search bar for that topic. You can also search my free printables page. If you can’t find answers there, another great site to search is Reading Rockets.
If you’ve tried searching and still can’t find what you need, please email me and I’ll try to answer.
The best thing you can do is make your request simple and specific. For example, “I need help teaching my child to read,” is too broad and does not help me narrow down how you need help.
2. I can’t print or download your files. Can you see what’s wrong with your blog?
Nine times out of ten, the problem is on your end. I have a post all about downloading and/or printing help. 99% of the time, the answer is there, so please read it before you email me.
3. I ordered something from your shop and didn’t get it. Help!
Please email me at becky{at}thisreadingmama{dot}com. I answer these e-mails as quickly as possible during the weekdays. If you don’t hear from me within 24 hours and it’s a weekday, feel free to send me another email. Note: aol and hotmail accounts often have the most trouble, so use a different email next time.
4. I subscribed, but didn’t get an email.
My email is set up to automatically send a welcome email to you after you subscribe. Depending on your email service and filters you have set up, it can take 15 minutes to a week to get that email.
If you have subscribed using an older email service like aol or hotmail, the chances of you getting any emails are slim to none. I suggest creating a new email with gmail or something more up-to-date.
As always, check your spam folder as sometimes emails go there, too.
5. I am a subscriber, but my password to the subscriber freebies page isn’t working.
To protect my subscriber list, I frequently change the password. I will email you when the password changes. Be sure to check the BOTTOM of the most recent newsletter I’ve sent. You’ll always find the current password there.
6. Do you have any printables for ______?
Please search my free printables page or my shop. If I have it, it will be there. If you don’t see it, chances are I don’t have it.
7. Would you make your printable editable, change a word, etc. for me?
Once in a very great while I have time to accommodate a request for changing a free printable. If you asked me to adjust a printable and were directed to this page, the answer is no. Thank you for understanding!
8. Would you help me design a curriculum or printables for my school or homeschool?
I’m sorry, but this is not a service that I offer.
9. I need help with my college assignment. OR I need help with a lesson plan for _____.
Again, this is not a service that I offer.
10. Can you print things and mail them to me? OR Can you email me the file?
Once again, this is not a service that I offer.
11. Could you give me your printable unsecured so I can change it the way I like it?
For copyright reasons, I do not share unsecured files.
12. Could you just give me your template so I can make your printable into something that works better for me?
Again, for copyright reasons, the answer is no.
13. Can you show me how you make your printables so I can make some like yours?
Due to time constraints I am not able to give printable tutorials. I am able to tell you that I create using PowerPoint, save it as a PDF, securing the file with Adobe DC Pro.
14. Could you create your printable in a different language for me?
While many people have offered to help me translate materials, I simply don’t have time to make these modifications. Thank you for understanding.
15. I found an error on your printable. Will you please fix it?
If it’s a free printable, I will be sure to put it on my list of things to fix. If it’s a paid product, I try my best to get to it right away.
Business-Related Questions
1. Would you review my product/app/online service, etc. for free?
I no longer review products for free. The time I spend away from my family is too valuable. If it looks like we’d be a good fit, you can send an e-mail asking for my current rates.
2. Can I buy ad space, advertise with you, etc?
I’m 100% happy with my ad company and you won’t convince me otherwise. The answer is no.
3. I am _______. I’d like to write a guest post/write a sponsored post for you.
I do not accept unsolicited guest/sponsored posts. I have more ideas in my head than I could ever write about and only accept guest posts from those I’ve asked.
Thank you for your understanding. I’m only one person and wish I could clone myself most days just to wash the dishes!
