Here are a few literacy”goodies” I found this week while surfing the web (which was way too much, I must confess!):
- Easy Letter Reversal Solution (for younger kids); I also posted a more discrete idea for older kids who might feel a little embarrassed to do this in the classroom with peers watching.
- I LOVE Words Their Way, just in case you didn’t know that :). Here is a post by one of the authors showing how you can use sorts for much more than word patterns. (If you also look below the post to Hyperlinks: Useful Websites…HOLY COW..a wealth of info online! I need to take some time to click and look around.)
- I found this site quite by accident, but I’m glad I did. Her focus is on the classroom, but there are ideas that homeschooling mamas can use, too (like Center Activities). If you scroll down to Balanced Literacy Printables, you’ll find some GREAT (and free) stuff! She also has a blog, if you’d like to check it out.
- Okay, so this isn’t necessarily literacy, BUT I found an awesome chores chart with pictures on Homeschool Creations. LOVE. IT. I’ve adapted it just a tad for our purposes and added a piece to it to help me keep up with the chores ALuv has done for the week. I’ll post about it soon, but wanted to go ahead and give her mad props for creating and sharing this awesome resource.
Thank you for joining This Reading Mama on a literacy journey!
