These free Sneaky e Dot Pages are a great way to help learners listen for vowel sounds AND think about their spellings. They’ve been just what my 1st grader needed for some independent work on her silent e words.

FREE Sneaky e Dot Pages
Even though we’ve been studying the silent e pattern since before Christmas, my 1st grader asked me one day when trying to spell pan, “Does it have a silent e or not?” This inspired me to create these sneaky e dot pages for her.
I am sharing 4 of them for free today, one for each vowel sound {excluding the e_e pattern}.
To use the pages, learners identify the picture, then look at the two spellings below to figure out which way is spelled correctly. Learners dot the correct spelling with dot paint.
If you don’t want to use dot paint, just grab a pencil, crayon, or marker and circle the correct spelling.
I went to town and created quite a few more pages, including words with blends and digraphs and bundled them for my shop.

I just joined your site a few hours ago. So far, I’m loving everything I’ve seen. While scrolling though the activities I saw under free blends and digraphs chart one that explained the difference between a blend and a digraph using hands. I wanted to print them out to use with the group I tutor but I couldn’t find them again. Please e-mail me where I can locate the charts?
