If you have little ones who really like to color, then you’ll love these free alphabet coloring pages! Most of the printables I use with my two girls {ages 3 and 5} are more hands-on, like the activities from Learning the Alphabet and Reading the Alphabet.
And while they have lots of choice for independent activities, it is nice sometimes to have a quick, alphabet worksheet that I can print off for them.

52 FREE Alphabet Coloring Pages
Quick disclaimer: I created these mainly because my girls adore coloring. If your child does not like to color, follow his lead. I do not endorse forcing a young child to do an activity if he is not interested. There are so many ways to learn the alphabet! This is just one of MANY, MANY tools that you can use, if your child enjoys it.
I wanted coloring pages that also provided another educational benefit. So, the beginning of each word is dotted so that kids can practice tracing the letter featured on the page. Again, if your child seems frustrated by this part, don’t force it. Just practice listening for the letter sound at the beginning of each word.
Younger children typically gravitate towards uppercase letters at first. Why? Because, as I talk about Tips for Teaching Letters and Sounds, uppercase letter are developmentally easier. {To read more about this, visit Play to Learn Preschool’s post.} So I also included the entire set of 26 letters for uppercase tracing, too.
I thought I’d include a quick shot of my girls, sprawled out on the floor with our lap desks and the marker bin coloring away. I have to admit that coloring pages are one of my secret weapons when I need a little quiet. 🙂

Would you be willing to make a tracing abc sheet that has both upper and lowercase letters on the same page? Similar to your number sheets where you trace and color?

Hi, Becky! May God bless you for all these amazing printables! I teach English in Mexico and here it is very difficult to find good materials and God knows how much these materials help the kids out with economical problems and who have difficulties to learn English. You are such an inspiration! Thank you so much!
