What is a digraph? A digraph is two letters that make one sound. You can have a vowel digraph, like ea or ai. In this case, we are referring to consonant digraphs. While there are more, the consonant digraphs included in these pages are ch, ph, sh, th, and wh.
Digraph Dot Pages
My first grader has been reviewing digraphs lately. Each morning, my kiddos have a 30 minute morning work time that includes review work for phonics and other skills. The level 2 dot pages {scroll down to see} have been added to the rotation.
If you have a learner that is struggling a little bit with the digraph sounds, our free digraph cards can help. They are a visual reminder of each sound. Just print them off and keep them handy.
The level 1 dot pages ask learners to just dot the digraph with dot paint. There are 3 pages that include only ch, sh, and th and 2 more pages that add ph and wh into the mix.
The level 2 dot pages ask learners to dot the digraph and then write the entire word on the line.
*Quick Tip: Dot paint DOES “bleed” through regular copy paper. You can combat this by using it with card stock paper or slipping a piece of scrap paper underneath.
