My ABC’s of Thanksgiving Journal
Starting November 1, we will take a letter a day and the kids will write/draw something for which they are thankful…from A to Z! This doesn’t have to take a lot of time each day, but I do want my kids to be thoughtful and really count their blessings.
Before you start the journal, print out the cover pages and A to Z pages. There are two versions of the Thanksgiving journal {one with writing lines and ones without}, both in color and in black/white. Go ahead and staple them altogether.
I also like to brainstorm a list of words with the kids that begin with the particular letter we’re working on, as well as any other words they might need for writing, like thank. The kids also had their word wall folders with them to help with spelling words we’d already worked on. {You can find printable, ready-made word wall folders in my ebook, Spelling Activities and Games.}
The kids drew a picture, then wrote a sentence to go with their picture. I love my son’s reason to be thankful for ants. Ha! It truly is all about perspective sometimes when you find things for which you are thankful!
