- PAINT
- PANTRY ITEMS

- PATTERN BLOCKS– We recently reviewed these giant magnetic pattern blocks to go with our smaller ones and loved the product.
- PEGS/PEGBOARD– The one you see in the picture is this one, but we also have this set. These sets are GREAT for fine motor work to prepare kids for writing later.
- PENNIES
- PICK-UP STICKS– we have the Giant Pick-Up Sticks set
- PIGGY BANK
- PIPE CLEANER– great for lacing through the big buttons or stringing on the pony beads
- PLAYDOUGH
- PLASTIC SLEEVE PROTECTORS– so you can reuse worksheets, like tracing sheets over and over (see My Handwriting Notebook for an example)
- POCKET CHART– We use ours almost daily in our schoolwork, especially with my FREE Preschool Reading Curriculum, Reading the Alphabet
- POINTERS– You can buy one like this (we have one of these) or create your own pointers
- POM-POMS– We use pom-poms a TON. Sorting by color, by size, covering letters through mazes…as a variation, hot glue magnets on the back and play on a cookie sheet or the fridge
- POPCORN KERNELS
- POPSICLE STICKS
- POST-IT NOTES
- POTATO HEAD
- POTS and PANS– real or pretend
- PUPPETS
- PURSE
- PUSH PINS– we use these giant push pins to make poke pages.

Q is for…
- Q-TIPS– We use Q-Tips quite a bit as a make-shift pain brush to place Elmer’s glue on art projects, but I also love this idea, too
- QUARTERS
- QUILT FABRIC
- QWIRKLE– although this is really a game for older kids, it could be adapted for younger children as well.
R is for…
- RECYCLED ITEMS– Use a peanut butter jar to store scissors, glue sticks and crayons. Use those Gerber puff bottles as bowling pins. Use coffee containers in sensory play.
- REMOTE CONTROL CARS/VEHICLES– ALuv has several vehicles, but MBug (at 2.5 years of age) just got her own for Christmas this year. I highly recommend it!

- SAND/SAND TOYS
- SCARVES
- SCISSORS– My favorite scissors for the beginner are these Maped Koopy scissors! They have two settings and make learning to cut super easy.

- SOCKS– sort them, matching pairs of socks, folding socks

- TAPE– I don’t know what it is, but both my boys LOVE to play with tape. I make sure to buy them their own tape so they stay out of mine! 🙂

- TISSUE PAPER– tear or cut it to use in crafts
- TONGS
- TOOLS
- TOPS
- TOOTHPICKS– poke in Playdough or use on those poke pages
- TRAINS– We have the Thomas (take along set) and GeoTrax, but I also love the wooden train sets
- TRAYS– we have several like this one or you can use cookie trays (purchased at $1 store)
