I’m am SUPER PUMPED to join 60+ other bloggers in a 5-day series called The ABCs of… To see the list of topics and bloggers, you can click on the image above or click here.
My topic is The ABCs of Learning Toys and Manipulatives and I am so excited to finally get all these ideas organized into one place!
Why Learning Toys and Manipulatives?
Kids love to learn through play! What better way to reinforce playing with the letters of the alphabet than through learning toys and mainpulatives? I’ve taught young children the letters of the alphabet for quite a few years now. With every letter, I scrounged around, trying to find toys or manipulatives I can pull out that start with the particular letter we’re working on. And every time, I wonder why don’t I have a go-to list that I can quickly refer to for each letter? A round-up of toys and manipulatives, if you please. Well, I will now…and so will you!
Each day this week, I’ll post a list of toys and manipulatives to accompany each letter. Some will have links to posts where you can see the idea in action. Some items will be things from your pantry or bathroom drawers and others will be things you can purchase {that I highly recommend}.
As I post each day, I’ll add the link here so it’s all in one place:
And while you’re here, don’t forget about an amazing giveaway that I have going on this week (ends January 11th, 2013) – You could win this awesome wooden MARBLE RUNAROUND from HearthSong (and it fits perfectly with the letter M)! Click HERE to enter the giveaway!
