Working on complete sentences? Try this fun Roll a Sentence activity with free printables included!
*The free printable pack can be found towards the END of this post!
ALuv {currently end of Kindergarten} and I have been working just a bit on making complete sentences {requiring only a subject and predicate}.
We talked about making complete sentences; that they need a WHO (a subject) and a DID WHAT (a verb/predicate). I made up a sentence sort for him. ALuv color-coded the WHO and the DID WHAT with red and blue markers, then sorted them as complete or incomplete sentences.

On another day, we used our pocket cubes for some sentence fun. We reviewed first by re-sorting our Who? + Did what? sentences. I created some Who? and Did What? inserts for the dice. You will find the FREE download at the end of this post.
I modeled a time or two for him and then ALuv rolled away {all my WHO inserts were put in my red die & DID WHAT inserts in the blue die}.
After rolling each die,
he used a recording sheet {found on the second page of the download} and wrote each sentence down, then read it aloud. He needed a few reminders that a complete sentence needs: A capital letter, a complete thought, and punctuation.

I love this resource! However, the Thinking Out Loud blog is no longer available. Do you think you could replace the sentence writing worksheet that you used? Thank you for ALL you do!

I’ve updated it so that the recording sheet is there. 🙂
